about us

We are a community of believers who regularly meet to encourage, teach and honor one another.

We are a non-denominational fellowship, desiring the fullness of His Spirit in our lives.

History
The story of this church began in 1977 with the Charismatic Renewal movement.  It was a time when the Holy Spirit seemed to be moving over the earth birthing new life in all who called upon the name of the Lord.

In the summer of 1977, the founding members were meeting weekly for Bible study outdoors under a large tree in Georgetown.  In September when the weather turned cooler, the group moved to Floyds Knobs and began meeting in a basement.  Because there was such a hunger in the community for more of God, the Bible study grew quickly.

The church met in many different homes and buildings over the next couple of years including an old warehouse heated by a wood stove.

In the summer of 1980, the Lord graciously provided the property on which to build a permanent facility.  Construction began in October and in July 1981, the church building was opened.  During this period Brother Daryl Banet was raised up as Pastor and Richard Striegel was named Elder.

Over the years there have been times of pruning and times of refreshing, moments of sorrow and times of rejoicing.  Through it all God has been faithful and gracious to keep the church under His protection and close to His heart.

The church continued to grow and in 1984, the Fellowship Hall was added.  The name of the church was changed from Floyds Knobs Christian Fellowship to the Church at Floyds Knobs.  In 1991 the name was changed again to Cornerstone Community Church of Floyds Knobs, Inc., to reflect the church's developing identity.  In April 2001, the Christian Youth Center was dedicated, giving the church new facilities for offices and ministry.

God has been and continues to be "for" this church in all its endeavors. He has been good to the ministry.  His guidance will assure continued success.  All praise and honor and glory be to Him.
